DESCRIPTION
Our students are living in a highly literate world with access to unprecedented volumes of information. Despite that many students struggle learning because of prior failure. At-risk middle and high school students often disengage from learning thus avoiding the practice they need in order to improve. This workshop will explore:
• helping build a digitally literate school of critical thinkers who can
Employ sophisticated strategies in order to succeed;
• the strategies, including using academic and content area
language, striving readers need to develop to be successful;
• ways of empowering your staff to provide appropriate support to
adolescent learners;
• how a focused plan can give your staff the knowledge and skills
to be able to implement a differentiated program to meet
individual students needs.
